Lentil Soup Yummmm

Wow!  A great response to the lentil soup this week! Both #BeniciaFarmersMarket & #NapaFarmersMarket love it!  I will be doing this soup again soon :) - Below is a recipe of the soup.   INGREDIENTS ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil 1 yellow onion, chopped 4 carrots, peeled and chopped 4 garlic cloves smashed 2 teaspoons ground cumin 1 teaspoon curry powder ½ teaspoon dried thyme 4 lbs of tomatoes diced 1 cup brown lentils, picked over and rinsed 4 cups vegetable broth 2 cups water 2 tlbs of apple cider vinegar 1 teaspoon salt, more to taste Pinch red pepper flakes Freshly ground black pepper 1 cup chopped kale 2 lemons as toppings INSTRUCTIONS Warm the olive oil pot over...

Napa Farmers Market

First experience at the Napa Farmers Market 5/28/16!  Of course I had to be competing with other activities for this market.  It was Memorial Weekend AND BottleRock weekend in Napa but we still had a nice amount of foot traffic.  I served Roasted Garlic, Parsnip and White Bean Soup.  It was delicious! I was so happy that everyone braved the 90 degree heat and purchased a hot soup from me.  Next week it will be cold!

Miso Soup

In my technology career I was blessed to spend 3 months in Japan on business.  I just loved it.  The food was to die for; I even lost 20 lbs!  Everyone was very friendly even if they didn't make eye contact their culture was warm and inviting.  Experiencing their traditions was something that will stay with me forever and I do hope I can take Wesley to Japan one day.   A memory while I was in Japan.  During the day I had a translator that I worked with at night I was on my own.  I went to a sushi bar for dinner.  What I discovered was that each bar only focuses on one kind of dish...Sushi, Unagi, Tempura, Soba,...
